Day 29 Fri 17 May - The cold train to Saigon

The boys had a bit of a chilly night - except when the aircon went off and they cooked! The girls slept on, blissfully unaware. Spent most of the day travelling, checking out the "not really changing" scenery outside, playing cards and dice, a bit of reading and a bit of research into the next leg of the adventure, into Cambodia.

Arrived in Saigon about 3.30pm to a threatening thunder storm so took the easy way out and caught a cab!  An unusual occurrence for the intrepid 4!

Checking in to the Saigon Youth Hostel US$20 per night per room.
Kim unpacked and getting ready to explore!  Very close neighbours - could see what they were cooking for tea!
And we hit the streets of Saigon - not as bad as we had anticipated, maybe we are seasoned travellers?
An excellent example of the tube/tunnel houses, narrow road frontage to avoid taxes in bygone days....
    And the city lights up!
Kim sampling her first Pho, and a Green Papaya Salad.... Delish, the best Vietnamese meal we've had so far!

Kim and Russell decided to go for a bit of a stroll to see the sights while Brent and Lesley decided to avail themselves of a 45 minute foot massage!  NZ$5.

The Intrepid Four have arrived in South Vietnam.....
