Not sure about all these early starts.... Alarm set for 6.25 as the bus pick to take us to the Chinese River boat is 7.30! Unfortunately all 4 sets of eyes missed the CITS office sign and we patiently stood outside the wrong shop for over 30 minutes before we realised our mistake and quickly backtracked. Luckily we got picked up by a later bus and arrived to the "jetty" in good time.
First had to board a small craft that ferried us out to the bigger boat already steaming down the river, a mid river transfer followed and we were safely on board the large boat bound for Yangshuo.
The following 4 and 1/2 hours was spent amazed at the unbelievable scenery. Karst peaks just rose majestically skyward, hundreds of them all the way down to Yangshuo. For those that get to see our photos we will try to cull the slideshow somehow!
By the time we got in to Yangshuo the temperature had risen significantly and we were melting a wee bit after our walk from the Tourist Distribution Centre to the Yangshuo Culture House hostel, the first time Mr Google got it a bit wrong and the hostel was about 100 metres further than expected!
Had to get straight back out to see what we could of Yangshuo because we leave tomorrow morning for Nanning. Only two more nights in China. Wow, part one of the adventure nearly complete!
